HMH Priority

Identity, agency, connectedness

Fostering a strong sense of identity among teenagers is crucial for their emotional health and social integration into society. We should encourage community engagement activities that allow youth to express themselves creatively while building connections with peers who share similar interests or challenges. Involving teenagers in decision-making processes affecting their lives instils a sense of agency—empowering them not only as individuals but as active participants within their communities as well. Programs designed to enhance connectedness within communities are essential for reducing feelings of isolation among adolescents while promoting supportive networks that encourage positive development outcomes.
