Our vision is to improve the quality of teaching, learning and life in the Overstrand. We work to strengthen the skills of teachers through relevant courses and practical interventions across all subjects. At the same time, we nurture leadership, teamwork and cross-cultural understanding among young people. A key focus is raising literacy and numeracy across all learning phases, with extra emphasis on the Foundation Phase. We aim to increase children’s cultural capital by giving them access to supportive home environments, age-appropriate toys, books, and play spaces in early childhood; reading materials in the Foundation and Primary Phases; creative outlets like art and music; and opportunities to develop digital, e-learning and robotics skills. We also support foreign national learners to become fluent in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa, ensuring no one is left behind.
