FoodForward SA: Securing quality food. Nourishing lives. Established in 2009 to combat widespread food insecurity in South Africa, FoodForward SA bridges the gap between excess and need by recovering quality edible surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain. Over 80% of the recovered food is nutritious and is distributed to community organisations serving vulnerable populations.
During the 2024/2025 financial year, FFSA distributed 82 million meals and reached 935,100 people daily through a network of 2,519 beneficiary organisations, across South Africa. We achieved this at a cost per meal of only R0,50, due to the tremendous support from our donors, partners and volunteers.
