Project Hope

Project Hope's mission is to give vulnerable young children the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive. Working in the Valley of 1000 Hills in KwaZulu-Natal, we support children aged 0–5 and their families through an integrated early childhood development approach. We work alongside community-based ECD centres and families to address the interconnected factors that shape a child's development. Our support includes access to early learning, nutrition, health and developmental monitoring, assistance with essential documentation and referrals to health and social services, as well as practical support for caregivers and ECD practitioners.

We believe that a child's development cannot be separated from the circumstances in which they grow. By identifying vulnerability early and connecting children and families to the right support, we aim to remove barriers that prevent children from reaching their potential. At the heart of Project Hope is a simple belief: every child deserves someone to notice them, listen to them and hold their hand as they take their first steps towards a healthier, safer and brighter future.
