Investing in parent and caregiver support is one of the most impactful and cost-effective actions countries can take to advance children’s rights and accelerate progress toward the SDGs. Parenting support strengthens child development, reduces violence, promotes gender equality, and contributes to economic growth. As a cross-cutting enabler of children’s survival, development, protection, and learning, it delivers multi-generational and intersectoral impact. Yet access to parenting support remains limited. In response, UNICEF, WHO, and the SRSG-VAC issued a global policy call in 2021 for governments to scale up universal parenting support. To support this, UNICEF, in collaboration with Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) and support from GISP partners World Health Organization (WHO), the Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN), and the International Rescue Committee (IRC), developed a Global Conceptual Framework for Universal Parenting Support. The Framework consolidates global evidence, practical tools, and country examples to show how parenting support can be adapted and integrated across sectors and delivery platforms. This webinar will introduce the new Framework, its purpose, core elements, and development process. Participants will gain an understanding of how to apply it to advance universal parenting support in their countries and regions.
