1. Promoter
The promoter is Hold My Hand (HMH), a project incubated by the DGMurray Trust (DGMT). All references to “we/us/our” mean HMH/DGMT.
2.Competition overview
“Just One Thing” celebrates the small, joyful moments that matter for childrenand teens in South Africa. Entries can be creative and in any of the acceptedformats listed below. (Inspired by HMH’s storytelling purpose and communityfocus.)
3. Dates
- Opens: 21 November 2025 (00:00 SAST)
- Closes: 30 November 2025 (23:59 SAST)
- Winners announced: Early December 2025 (Top 5 cash prizes)
4. Who may enter
- Open to all residents of South Africa.
- All ages welcome. If you’re under 18, a parent/guardian must consent. Children under 13 may only enter via a parent/guardian.
- Employees, contracted suppliers and immediate families of DGMT/HMH/Keready are not eligible.
- If you have won a prize in a HMH/DGMT/Keready competition in the past 6 months you may enter but you are not eligible for one of the top prizes.

5. What to submit (formats)
Send one of the following:
- Voice note / Audio: Approximately 30secs (up to 2 minutes)
- Video clip: Approximately 30 seconds (up to 2 minutes)
- Photo with a short caption (max 50 words)
- Drawing/Artwork (photo or scan) with caption (max 50 words)
- Short poem, story or message (max 500 words)
6. Theme (eligibility of content)
Your entry must involve a child or teen. If you are a child/teen, your own moment counts. Adults can share moments with a child/teen.
7. How to enter
Send your entry via WhatsApp to 0600 411 111 (text, voice note, image orvideo) and follow the menu. Multiple entries are allowed if each one is unique.Data costs are for the entrant.
To boost your entry, you can post it on your socialmedia profile with #HoldMyHandSA #JustOneThing.
8. Safeguarding &consent
- If a child/teen is identifiable (face, name, voice), you must have written consent from a parent/guardian. We may request proof before publishing or awarding prizes.
- Do not include sensitive details such as school names on uniforms, home addresses, live locations, number plates or personal IDs.
- We may crop/blur or decline entries that risk a child’s safety or dignity.
9. Content rules
- Your entry must be original, unpublished, and created by you.
- No AI-generated submissions, hate speech, nudity, alcohol branding, gambling, or harmful/unsafe activities with children.
10. Judging & selection
There are two ways to win:
- Airtime spot giveaways (random): During 21–30 Nov, we will run random draws from valid entries for 10 × R500 airtime prizes.
- Top 5 cash prizes (judged): A judging panel selects the Top 5 based on:
- Heart & authenticity (does it feel genuine?)
- Clarity & storytelling
- Creativity/originality
- Community engagement may be considered but is not decisive. Judges’ decisions are final.
11. Prizes
- 10 × R500 airtime (random giveaways)
- 5 × R5 000 cash (Top 5 judged winners)
Prizes are non-transferable and not exchangeable. Winners are responsible for any bank charges or taxes, if applicable.
12. Winner notification& fulfilment
- Winners will be contacted via the DGMT/HMH office, via WhatsApp/phone using the details provided. We will never ask for OTPs or passwords.
- If we cannot reach a winner within 3 working days, we may select an alternative winner.
- Airtime is topped up to the winner’s number/network; cash prizes are paid by EFT after verification.
- Payments are targeted for completion before 10 December 2025 (subject to complete verification).
13.Verification (KYC) for prizes
We may request ID, proof of address and, where relevant, guardian consent. If documents are not provided or appear invalid, we may award the prize toanother entrant.
14. Disqualification
We may disqualify entries that:
- breach these T&Cs or content rules;
- are plagiarised, AI-generated, unlawful or unsafe;
- include personal/sensitive data we consider risky; or
- cannot be verified for consent or eligibility.
15. Rightsyou grant us (licence)
You keep your copyright. By entering, you grant HMH/DGMT/Keready a non-exclusive,royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, edit and publish your content onour channels and materials for campaign and educational purposes. This helps usinspire others through your story.
16. Privacy& POPIA
We process personal information only for running this competition,contacting winners, record-keeping and required reporting. We comply with SouthAfrica’s POPIA. You may request access to, or deletion of, your personaldata (subject to legal retention). For minors, guardian details will berequired for prize fulfilment.
17.Publication
By entering, you consent to us publishing your first name, age, town/city and entry content on HMH platforms if you win or are featured. You may opt outof wider promotional use by written request, but we may still publish legallyrequired winner information.
18. General
- We may amend, suspend or cancel the competition or these T&Cs if reasonably necessary (e.g. technical failures or regulatory changes).
- We are not liable for entries not received due to network, platform or device failures.
- Governing law: South African law; Johannesburg courts have jurisdiction.
