Social Development Initiative Organisation (SODIO) is a community-driven organisation committed to empowering girls, supporting vulnerable children and creating opportunities for young people to build brighter futures. Through our QHAKAZA GIRLS initiative, we focus on encouraging and supporting adolescent girls to stay in school, develop confidence, pursue their dreams and become future leaders in their communities. Our work addresses challenges affecting girls, including adolescent pregnancy, gender-based violence, peer pressure, substance abuse, poverty and limited access to educational and personal development opportunities. We believe every girl deserves a safe and supportive environment where she can learn, grow and reach her full potential. QHAKAZA GIRLS promotes education, mentorship, life skills, leadership development and community awareness. We also encourage parental involvement and collaboration with schools, community organisations, government departments and other stakeholders to strengthen support systems for girls. Currently, QHAKAZA GIRLS supports 50 girls with a vision to expand our reach and positively impact more children and families. Our mission is to empower girls to overcome challenges, make informed decisions and become confident, independent and responsible young women who contribute meaningfully to society.
