Strive New Culture Foundation

Strive New Culture Foundation is a community-based non-profit organisation based in New Culture Informal Settlement, Khayelitsha, Cape Town. Founded by Michell Walker, our mission is to restore dignity, hope and love to vulnerable elders and children living in extreme poverty. We work where government support is limited, providing food security through weekly food parcels and hot meals, elderly care through home visits and companionship, and child support through clothing, school essentials and toys. Our flagship programme is our annual Elderly & Children Only Christmas Lunch, a day of celebration that brings the whole community together. Guided by our motto, Community Love, Together We Strive, Together We Celebrate, we achieve our goals through volunteerism, local partnerships and transparent community action. 100% of donations go directly to beneficiaries, with impact shown through photos and videos.
