South Africa’s National Strategy to Accelerate Action for Children

August 25, 2026

The National Strategy to Accelerate Action for Children (NSAAC) sets out South Africa's shared priorities for children and adolescents – from closing the food gap and stimulating early language development, to safety and disability screening, as well as building teen identity.

It articulates the critical role of the President in mobilising all spheres and tiers of government, civil society, the private sector and labour while affirming the respective implementation roles of government departments.

Thank you to all the many organisations, departments, individuals, including children who added their voice in the development of this strategy. It was a collaborative effort and requires an all of society approach to action implementation.

If your organisation works with or for children, this strategy is your invitation to align, partner and act on the ten priorities to improve the wellbeing of children and adolescents.
